The stars were goin’ country at the premiere of - Monday night (Nov. in the country capital itself Nashville, TN. Gwyneth Paltrow really shined on the red carpet in a short black cocktail dress — we love the flouncy skirt.

Leighton Meester donned an interesting dress, but she’s Blair Waldorf, so whatevs. She could come to a premiere in a burlap sack and we’d still adore her. Also on hand were husband and wife country duo Tim McGraw and Faith Hill.

“Country Strong” is the story of the rise, fall and comeback of singer
Kelly Canter (Paltrow), whose spotlight is stole by a younger rival,
Chiles Stanton (Meester). Canter’s husband/manager Ed is played by McGraw, who was last seen as Sandra Bullock’s on-screen husband in the Oscar-winning “The Blind Side.”

“Country Strong” opens nationwide Jan. 7, 2011.

We came across the trailer for “The Roommate” a short time ago, and now that we’ve recovered from watching it, we thought we’d share it with you.

The movie, scheduled for release in February, stars - (“Friday Night Lights”) as a college student and “Gossip Girl’s” - as the clingy, unstable and very possibly homicidal person the college housing office assigns as Kelly’s roommate. Think “Single White Female” in a dorm room.

Frankly, it looks like an unintentional hoot, with Meester dialing up the crazy to a very high level (the final shot of the trailer, with Meester watching Kelly sleep? Camptastic). The film also features several other CW stars, including “Hellcats” star -, “90210′s” - and “One Tree Hill” alum -. - of “Twilight” is also in the cast.
